Does copying small document portions work?
Action:
Create a new empty document and paste small portions of the corrupt document into the new document:
NOTE: This will isolate the corrupt portion of the document.
1) Select a small portion of text at the beginning of the document.
2) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Copy'. (The file is copied into the Clipboard.)
3) Select the 'File' menu in Word and select 'New'.
4) Select the 'New Document' icon to create a new file.
5) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Paste'.
6) Save the new document.
7) Repeat steps 1) through 6) until saving the document causes an error or corruption.
8) When the corruption occurs:
a) Select the corrupted portion (the last portion copied).
b) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Delete' to delete the corrupted portion of the document.
9) Save the document again.
10) Re-create the text for the corrupted portion.
